20 for 2023 – Fun for Me in ’23

It’s back! The FUN annual activity my family and I have been doing for the past five years. The name changes slightly every year but the concept is the same. One note: because the years are growing in size, 23 seemed like a long list of things so I’m going with the first 2 numbers of the new year for the rest of this decade. This year, our list is called  ’20 for 2023′ and it’s essentially where you capture 20 FUN intentions for the year.

I first heard about this idea on one of my favorite podcasts and I’ve adopted it and been encouraging my family and Happy Healthy Caregiver community to join in on the FUN. I even created a fresh new FUNsheet for you to use!

Resolutions and goals can be heavy but this activity is all about whatever your definition of FUN is.

Steps to Create your 20 for 2023 List

  1. Download the FUNsheet by entering your information here.
  2. Write down 20 things that you want to do, try, have, achieve, be, or go to at some point in 2023.
  3. Post it where you can see it. Perhaps on your desk, fridge, walk-in closet wall, or bathroom mirror. You could also add it as your computer desktop or phone’s wallpaper.
  4. Optional: Share it socially for even more accountability and use the hashtag #20for2023 and tag Happy Healthy Caregiver on Instagram.

To offer you some ideas, here’s the list I created for 2022. This may help spark some of your own ideas!

Since I’m looking at this sheet all year long. It’s fun to make it colorful. If you can’t think of 20 things, don’t stress about it. Having some blank boxes allows you the flexibility to add something mid-year.

Tip: If you want to do something a specific number of times, draw little checkboxes. Like 12 checkboxes for each month.

Some ideas I’m pondering for 2023

  • Make art at a splatter studio
  • Cook a Thai recipe
  • Attend a comedy show
  • Go to the drive in
  • Jamaica trip

More ideas to come! I’ll share my list with you once it’s complete.

A FUN family tradition these past few years has been that my family finalizes and shares their list on New Year’s Eve day. We go someplace yummy for lunch and do a big reveal. Doing this activity with your family allows you to share some of the same items and help each other check them off. Get your care recipient involved in this activity, too!

Start your 20 for 2023 at Anytime

Even though I’ll be kicking off the new year with my 20 for 2023 list, you can start this at any time. Enter your information to have the PDF FUNsheet sent to your email.
