Songs speak to how I’m feeling. Fellow family caregivers tend to ‘get me’. Put those two things together and we’ve got a strong need for some Caregiver Anthems!
Anthems are defined as rousing or uplifting songs identified with a particular group, body, or cause.
I have been gathering my own playlist of Caregiver Anthems and I’m ready to share the initial list with you. I also reached out on social media to get ideas for the empowering music that speak to you about caregiving and added them to this Spotify playlist called ‘Caregiver Anthems’.

Eight Songs or Anthems to Empower Family Caregivers
Below are some of the caregiving lyrics from eight songs in the Caregiver Anthems playlist.
David Guetta “This One’s For You”
We’re in this together
Hear our hearts beat together
We stand strong together
We’re in this forever
This one’s for you
This one’s for you
Jess Glynne’s “Hold My Hand”
Darling, hold my hand
Oh, won’t you hold my hand?
Cause I don’t wanna walk on my own anymore
Won’t you understand? Cause I don’t wanna walk alone
I’m ready for this, there’s no denying
I’m ready for this, you stop me falling
I’m ready for this, I need you all in
I’m ready for this, so darling, hold my hand
Andra Day “Rise Up”
You’re broken down and tired
Of living life on a merry go round
And you can’t find the fighter
But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out
And move mountains
We gonna walk it out
And move mountains
And I’ll rise up
I’ll rise like the day
I’ll rise up I’ll rise unafraid
I’ll rise up
And I’ll do it a thousand times again
Rachel Platten “1,000 Ships”
Well I would bring your morning coffee
Then I’d wrap you up in me
I’d kiss your belly and your shoulders,
Cover blankets on our feet
So slow down there’s some kind of blessing here
Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”
If you need me, call me
No matter where you are
No matter how far (don’t worry, baby)
Just call my name
I’ll be there in a hurry
You don’t have to worry
Cause baby there
Ain’t no mountain high enough
Ain’t no valley low enough
Ain’t no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you, babe
Hootie & The Blowfish “Hold My Hand”
Yesterday, I saw you standing there
Your head was down, your eyes were red
No comb had touched your hair I said get up, and let me see you smile
We’ll take a walk together Walk the road awhile, ’cause
‘Cause I’ve got a hand for you I’ve got a hand for you
One Republic “I Lived”
Hope that you fall in love, and it hurts so bad
The only way you can know is give it all you have
And I hope that you don’t suffer but take the pain
Hope when the moment comes, you’ll say…
I, I did it all I, I did it all I owned every second that this world could give
I saw so many places, the things that I did
With every broken bone, I swear I lived
The Script “This = Love”
This is why we do it
This is worth the pain
This is why we fall down
And get back up again
This is where the heart lies
This is from above
Love is this, this is love
Love is why we do it
Love is worth the pain
Love is why we fall down
And get back up again
Love is where the heart lies
Love is from above
Love is this, this is love
